Privacy policy
Inked Lines is the journal of two small Etsy shops, OpenHeartLines and EverAfterDesignRoom. This page explains what happens to your information when you read it. It covers this website only. When you order from either shop you are on Etsy, and Etsy's own privacy policy applies there.
What this site collects
Reading a page does not require an account. There is nothing to sign up for unless you choose to join the newsletter, and nothing on the site asks for your address or payment details.
Two things are recorded:
- Your email address, if you subscribe to the newsletter. It is stored by our publishing platform (Ghost) and used only to send the occasional studio note. There is an unsubscribe link in every email.
- Anonymous usage data. We record which pages are read, roughly where in the world the reader is, and which links are clicked, so we know which guides are useful. This is aggregated and is not used to identify anyone.
Cookies
Cookies on this site are limited. They keep the newsletter box working and let the analytics tool count a visit without following you around the internet. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the articles will still read normally.
Advertising
We may show advertising on this site in future to cover the cost of running it. When that happens, third party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show ads based on your visits to this site and others.
- You can turn off personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
- Google explains its own practices in its partner sites policy.
Advertising never changes what we write. No shop pays for a mention, and the two shops named on this site are our own.
Who else sees your data
Our publishing platform stores the newsletter list and the page statistics on a server we control. Our domain and network provider processes requests to reach the site. If you click through to Etsy, Etsy records the visit under its own policy, and the order you place there is handled entirely by Etsy and the shop you bought from.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, or ask us to delete it. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email, which removes the address from the list. To make any other request, or to correct something, write to [email protected] and we will reply within a few days.
Children
This site is written for adults buying gifts. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles information changes, this page will be updated and the date below changed. Questions about any of it are welcome at the email address above.
